Advanced Buoyancy Course...

The Advanced Buoyancy course is designed to help divers perfect their ability to remain neutrally buoyant underwater. After completing the e-learning, you will spend two dives in the ocean working on proper weighting, body position underwater, finning techniques, and breath work. We will use fun games and challenges to help you work on these skills!

Poor buoyancy is one of the key reasons divers are not good for the environment. Accidentally kicking coral or skimming your equipment along the ocean floor are things we should all avoid. This course gives you the tools to become a more eco friendly diver!

What to expect?

  • Prerequisites– Must be Open Water and Drysuit certified with recent cold water experience.
  • Paperwork– Sign up and fill out the General Liability and Medical Release forms. If these forms are not completed you will be unable to dive. You will be prompted to fill them out upon registration as well.
  • Knowledge Training–  First, your instructor will send you a code for your e-learning to complete before the open water training. There will be a final exam at the end of the e-learning which you will then go over with your instructor. This will occur in a video call or in person before the open water training. E-learning takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete.

  • Open Water Session– You will then have two open water dives to practice your buoyancy skills. These dives will occur in one day starting early in the morning to ensure parking.  Please pack food and water and bring warm clothes or an undergarment to wear under your drysuit.
  • Certification– Upon successful completion you will be certified and possess the tools you need to become an outstanding diver!
